Usually, Zak is a very happy little dog. But there is one thing that does not approve of at all. It is something so terrible that he has to run and hide, shaking all over with his worst “how can you be so cruel?” expression on his face. Yes – it is that dreaded experience of having a bath! If he even suspects I am heading for the cupboard to get a towel, he is off. It can be very difficult to convince an uncooperative schnauzer that yes, he really does need a bath and that it isn’t my fault that he trampled in the mud, stuck his face in the sticky plant when he visited the neighbour and is dirty because he has been tearing round with Zeus and getting into who knows what!!
The words “you can run but you can’t hide” definitely apply here. There aren’t that many places for him to hide. But yesterday he found a new one. I guess you could call this ‘hiding in plain sight’. He decided that jumping onto the chair and ‘hiding’ behind the rug would mean I wouldn’t be able to see him. Good try Zak but buddy, the ears sort of gave it away!
